LIFE! DO YOU HEAR ME? GIVE MY CREATION... LIFE!

BabyMac is our new 20" iMac G5 we got for Christmas. Today is BabyMac's birthday - the stork (aka FedEx) delivered him (it's a boy, I checked) today from the Apple online store.

Now that BabyMac is here, he is going to be my constant companion in creating and maintaining this blog.

So, it's also Jury-Rig's birthday. Yay! Twins!

So why am I starting a blog?

Peer Pressure
Everyone is doing it. You're not cool if you're not doing it. Be a follower.

Cost = zero monies
Free is a very good price.

Forgetfulness
I can remember dumb things -what I had for dinner or random snippets of conversation. But I can't remember the big things - my children's names, my first date with my boyfriend, any part of any movie I've ever seen (this entry's title doesn't count, I remember movies that I own).

I practice distributive memory - having other people remember things for me, then asking them when I can't remember. This is a bigger and better extension of that.

Writing Practice
I love writing. I want to be better at it. But I'm a perfectionist - I will continually edit to make it better. So this gives me a good vehicle to practice writing, and commit it to blog. I will try not to go back and edit.

Exhibitionism
I don't care who reads it - everyone, no one. For the most part, it's for me. But if anyone cares to take a peek inside my head...
