It’s the last day of February. The year is going by too fast. We’ll be in Vegas next week. It seems like only yesterday I was giving my dad the "story" I had made for him for his birthday present back in November. I used it to break the news that my mom and I conspired, not only to take him to Vegas for the week, but to the NASCAR races as well. Watching my dad read it was one of those memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
It told the story of a beloved and deserving father, and his conspiring wife and daughter, who fly him to Vegas and take him to a NASCAR race for his birthday. I still have it on my computer at work, and I took the time to re-read while I was at work today.
It’s so dang cute. My mom said that she took it to work this week to show to her co-workers and they RAVED about it. And I have to admit, I'm pretty happy with it, having only put 10 hours work in it. And it was definitely a better surprise than just flat out telling him, "Um, we're going to Vegas for a NASCAR race." I got to watch it unfold, like a child opening a gift at Christmas, watch his expression of utter exasperation at what we were telling him. It was priceless.
