I've run in the afternoons this week, rather than in the morning, so I don't get addicted to the hot tub (too late) and so I don't get stuck in the "morning workouts or nothing" habit. But this morning I was craving the hot tub like junkies crave crack.
I loaded Dahlia onto the Shuffle. It's the perfect music, some songs are "recovery" songs, and some are "run like hell" songs, but Jennifer's voice and Keith's beats make that hour of speed work fly by.
Fit Right NW didn't have my shoes and said it takes 10 days to get them in. 10 days?!? Sigh. I should have planned ahead. They've always had my size in stock, so I assumed (arrgh) it wouldn't be a problem. I need two weeks to break new shoes. Now I'll have a maybe week (probably less) to break them in before the race.
Here's the kicker. The only reason I'm even getting them at Fit Right is because I have a 10% off coupon, which saves me $9. Portland Running Company has several pairs, but won't accept competitor's coupons.
Hmmm… risk injury or save money? I can't really ease up on the running, since the perfect trifecta of the holidays, PMS and the full moon has found me at record levels of cranky. It's the only stress release I have. This really should be a no brainer, but I'm sooooo stingy with the monies.
