I’m completely bi-polar at work these days with the situation as it is. I alternate between bonding with my co-workers, laughing about life, the universe and everything, and sitting in my cube stewing in my own bitterness and binging on food.

My fiancée and I had this thing called Cookie Friday. Basically, we were good about what we were eating during the week, but every Friday we would allow ourselves to splurge on a cookie from Paradise Bakery (my favorite is snickerdoodles and his is oatmeal raisin). Well, the last two cookies didn’t get eaten last Friday because, obviously, he wasn’t there.

I went to the floor where he worked and pulled the cookies out of the freezer. They sat on my desk, waiting patiently, until the end of the day when I would go out to him with cookies in hand. That worked for a little while until the person that shall remain unnamed visited my cubicle for the sixth time. I couldn’t take it and ate the whole damn cookie in about 2 minutes.

The guilt got to me. I called my fiancée and confessed – whispering into the phone “My cookie is gone. All gone. I ate it. I couldn’t help it”. He laughed. He commented how it was good that we have totally opposite tastes in food or his cookie would have suffered the same fate as mine. As it was, his cookie was safe. I wrinkle my nose at oatmeal raisin. Not because I don’t like oatmeal or raisins, I just don’t like them combined. Especially in a baked good. In fact, all raisins should be banned from baked goods. Ick.

Yes yes. you are an odd man :-P

...and I will eat every single one of your rejected nutty brownies. Brownies with nuts (esp. walnuts) baked in them are the bestest.
