Pretty Lights and Sh*tty Malls

I hadn't been to Peacock Lane in ages, so when my sweetie mentioned that we should take the kids this year, there was no way I was going to turn him down.

There was just one tiny problem. We had to go to (gasp!) THE MALL. Only stupid people go to the mall at Christmas. Unfortunately, due to my lack of planning, we didn't have much of a choice.

The plan was to take my kids and my soon-to-be step-son to Build-a-Bear earlier this month to put together a New England Patriots teddy bear for his dad. But funnily enough, the brick-and-mortar stores only carry regional teams, meaning our store had the Seahawks and the Mariners uniforms and nothing else. Sigh.

I could have just ordered the whole thing online. Instead, I just ordered the uniform and we forced ourselves out to the mall yesterday, a mere 5 days before Christmas, because the whole point was for his three-year-old son to actually, you know, build the bear.

Every entry road into the Washington Square and the entire parking lot was packed with cars that were not moving. Eeesh.. To avoid wasting time and gas, I ended up parking at a lot away from the mall. We got our newly stuffed bear decked out in its Patriots uniform and back to the car in less time that it took some people just to park their car.

After picking up my sweetie and filling our bellies at the Old Spaghetti Factory (mmm. pasta), we finally made it to Peacock Lane! The simple act of strolling along the street with my family was the best part of Christmas this year.
