Woooo! Go Ensemble!

The Jazz Ensemble, the band that my daughter plays trumpet in at school, placed second in their division at the 35th Annual Instrumental Jazz Festival at Clackamas Community College. What's remarkable is that they competed in the high school-level division, despite the fact that the Ensemble is more than 60 percent middle school students, most of which are first year students. Incredible.

The Jazz Orchestra (all high school-age multi-year players) won their high school-level division, so it was a very successful weekend for those craaaazy band kids.

How do I know they're crazy?
