Bah!

I just realized last night that I also have to cross the Starlight Run off my list of events because we’re going to be smack dab in the middle of alumni weekend, of which organizers are casting out the traditional "beer and BBQ" in favor of wines and more “sophisticated” menu (in contrast to my own college reunion which will feature a multi-flavor selection of Mad Dog and DIY Jello-shots. PISS-U ROCKS!!!).

I digress. Basically, after the Lake Run in mid-May, I’ve got no events until the back-to-back weekend Seaside Beach Run and Cascade Run Off events in mid-July. Not that there won't be some exciting running to be had on the east coast. Although I’ll probably just run the campus the first couple days, I fully plan on running my legs off in NYC, including Central Park (just to say I did) and Prospect Park (near his brother’s place in Brooklyn), plus exploring the city with the magic formula, 20 streets in NYC = 1 Mile. I'll deal with Boston when we figure out where we're staying, but I’m sure there’s no shortage of great places, being the home of the world’s oldest and probably most famous marathon.

Probably for the best- I’ll need at least a couple s-l-o-w running recovery weeks after the trip. Then plan for the end of June as a good time to head up north to run the trails in the Redmond Watershed again (yay!).
