When I'm not at the gym or spending time watching football (go Pats!) with my sweetie and his son this weekend, I'm going to play hermit at home – stitching and watching movies.
It's been nearly five years since I devoted myself to a stitching project. It's addictive, like putting together a puzzle, and I can do it while I'm watching movies, so it seems like a hyper-efficient use of my free time (gawd, I'm SUCH a Virgo).
Historically, I've given away all my stitching to friends and family. These are the first projects I'm keeping for myself – eventually I see them professionally framed and used as a focal point for an Asian themed room in my home.
Several years ago, I purchased Jewels of the Orient and The Mighty Samurai because I really loved the design, but I never found the motivation to start them. I'm purchasing the third of the series, Elegance of the Orient later this year.
I'm going to watch Todd Solondz movies while I'm stitching this weekend. Palindromes was the perfect combination of overwhelmingly disturbing and intriguing, so I ordered the rest of his films off Netflix.
Sounds like the only thing I won't be doing this weekend is sleeping. I'll save that for when I go to work on Monday. Heh heh - just kidding.
Or am I?
