Monday morning recap
The water in the hot tub this morning was tepid (TEPID!) and barely reached jet-level, thereby shooting water out of the tub at the opposite wall and lowering the water level even further.
Arrgh.
Bad gym. Bad! Threw off my whole workout. It better be back to normal tomorrow.
Anyway, the weekend.
Wanted to hike Saturday, but the wind chill still made it feel like 70 below outside and my sweetie had a performance that night. So other than the mad dash to the store to buy stuff for our monthly wine-meat-cheese-bread indulgence (now with bonus chocolate!) for after the performance, we opted for a lazy movie-watching afternoon.
OCP's bi-annual children's concert was super cute this year. The kids really perked up during the guest performance by a harmonica player who coincidentally looks like a kid himself, but is really an amazing talent (and not as young as he looks).
Sunday was race day – the Daytona 500. Bad-boy Tony attitude was back in full force (YESSS!), thankfully not wanting to let his image slide too far into "teddy bear" territory.
Jimmie Johnson won the race, effectively validating his team's gambling with the rules approach to getting a championship. Jimmie's post-victory remarks pretty much spell out his opinion that if the drivers and crew chiefs aren't pushing the envelope, exploiting the loopholes and taking chances, they just don't want it bad enough. Nobody wants it as bad as Jimmie (except probably Biffle), and the sad fact is, once one driver does it, everyone has to do it or get left behind.
So some rivalries stared up and some debates will rage on for a few weeks. Besids, drama is good for sports, it gets people watching. Ask the NFL.
