Scanner Darkly

If this movie gets any more awesomer, I'm going to esplode. My worst fear is that my expectations will be so high that I'll end up hating the movie.

Keanu Reeves is sure to keep my expectation level in check though; since I haven't liked him in anything he's done (Matrix and Bill & Ted are the obvious exceptions). I just saw him in Thumbsucker this past weekend and not only did his performance annoy the crap out of me, but it was a lame, phoned-in performance where he walks around on set and uses his floaty, spacey Keanu-voice.

It was filmed in Beaverton though, which is both cool and lame. Cool because hey, I live here. Lame because, well…I live here. Beaverton is, as Tilda Swinton said in during one of the "making of" features, "the epitome of suburbia" which basically means I live in the lamest place on earth. I mean, I already knew that, it just sucks to be reminded.
