Too. Many. Shows.

...Radiohead is playing four (FOUR!) shows while we are on the east coast. They are playing in Philly the very night we arrive.

I could totally make this happen if I want to spend the time and effort to do it. Oh, and monies. Not only for the tickets, but also to pay for the adjustments to the travel arrangements.

But now after a day of agonizing, I've let it go. We have so much to cram into one week and our trip is going to be expensive as it is (seriously, why does it cost $18 dollars to go to the top of the Empire State Building?!? Do you get a t-shirt? Geez!).

Plus, we're planning the move in together (us + 3 kids + 3 pets = not cheap) towards the end of the year, so I'm going to struggle again this year just choosing to go to a few shows in order to keep expenses down. There are a couple of them I really should have gone to see that I didn’t (notably Dead Can Dance in Seattle last September and tonight’s Sigur Ros show here in Portland).

It's cool that the kids and I are going to NIN and the Dresden Dolls (yay!), and my sweetie and I are seeing Béla Fleck and (ick) Shawn Colvin (sorry baby), but it's a shame to give up the Decemberists, Cake and Violet Femmes at the Oregon State Fair. That would be a great show, but drive time + monies + guilt for spending monies (especially before the trip) = can't see myself going. Plus, the NIN show is the following night, and I'm not up for back-to-back shows. Man, I feel lame just saying that...
