I can't believe I've been as sick as I have for an entire week and a half now. I started with some slight nasal congestion the day we left for Vegas and it has worsened a little each day. Last night, in addition to complete nasal congestion, I had a fever, a deep chest cough (complete with phlegm action), and burning eyes.

Fortunately I was in the company of one of my dearest friends who distracted me with yummy drinks, starting with seven-n-sevens then moving to Tuaca and talk of music – both his own music projects and of Saul Williams' new album.

I like this self-titled release better than his first CD, Amethyst Rock Star. But then again, it's been a while since I've listened to the first one. My friend also read to me from Saul's book of poetry and showed me some of his favorite scenes from the movie Slam! I like it when he gets all obsessive like that.
