Monday Morning (non-running) Recap
Great performance/fundraiser Friday night. My daughter says they played much better this concert than during the competition, but to my untrained ear, I thought they played better at the competition. Maybe I was just caught up in all the emotion of it. Still good though.
I'll update some pictures here when I get unlazy and download them from my camera. update: (I to figure out how to take better pictures in low light with my camera...most of them came out blurry)
And you know, the post-concert meal at Denny’s was pretty good too. The performer got a hot fudge sundae for all her hard work, but after a while nearly everyone else eventually ordered some type of ice cream treat. Poor waiter, he could hardly keep our order straight; every time he brought us what we ordered, we’d order more.
Again, more pics = me unlazy.
update:
Saw Inside Man Sunday night, partially because my sweetie worships Jodie Foster, but mostly because of post-race apathy on my part.
Here’s the sum up… add together some quirky Spike Lee effects, the “super-hot-but-not-quite-as-hot-in-this-film” Clive Owen, a pimp-esque persona that doesn't make Denzel Washington’s character as likeable as Lee was probably going for, about 10 minutes of scenes that should have been be edited down further, and one glorious scene starring Jodie Foster’s legs where something else was happening but you wouldn’t know because you’ve been struck deaf and dumb until the scene ends and they’re gone.
That’s not to say I didn’t like the film – it’s well written and acted. It took top-spot at the box office, hardly an amazing feat with Larry the Cable Guy as your opening weekend competition. Eeesh.
