(Un)Official Team Grunter

So it has now come to pass that I, the so-called "miss competition" of the team, have been singled out as very good at grunting in time when we do our up-n-ups towards the end of a race. I am consistent, I am intense, and more importantly, I am loud.

I have been told on more than one occasion that, once I start yelling, the whole boat picks up speed. I also scream out a "Finish It!" or "GOOOOOOO!" when I can hear those around me start to struggle. And as such, I've seem to have been christened the unofficial (or who knows, probably the official) team grunter.

Now, yelling at people and having them obey is obviously not the best type of encouragement for my personality type, but it is nice to feel useful. Frankly, I yell to push myself, dig deeper and reach beyond my limit.

So yeah, I'm competitive. I'm intense. There are worse things to be. And if helps us succeed as a team, all the better. I’m rather smitten with this sport, and in my mind I’ve committed to being a part of it until I’m 40 (the part of me that’s still 21 *shudders* at this approaching milestone) and probably a little beyond that.

Who knows, maybe next season when I have my race shirt done, I’ll ask to have my position screened on there.

Go Team Fusion!
