Gogo Mongo Break
My youngest daughter and I went out to a new restaurant, Gogo Mongolian Feast, which distinguishes itself from the other Mongolian Grill-type restaurants by being more upscale in appearance and atmosphere.
The main thing, and probably the most important, that gives this place the potential of being a great restaurant is that all their food was freakishly fresh. Their meat (but no lamb, sigh) and seafood selections weren't frozen, and if they ever had been, there wasn't any sign of it. The veggies were all perfectly colored, crisp and proportionately cut. Even the cilantro looked whole and fresh, not wilted and over chopped.
They had two types of noodles, the standard variety, and some short skinny tube variety (we both chose the latter). And instead of mixing your own sauce, they had a selection of ready-made sauces such as teriyaki, sweet ginger, sweet and sour, a peanut sauce and a couple others. I had the sweet ginger, which tastes amazingly similar to the infamous sweet chili sauce, along with two healthy scoops of chopped garlic (oy, I'm still burpin' garlic).
They threw the contents of our bowls on the grill, but instead of throwing everything on at once, they wait until the meat has almost finished cooking before they add the sauce. But it matters naught, the end result is super duper yummy. They serve rice and tortillas to accompany, of which I had the tortilla (being that my meat to noodle ratio was about 20:1). It was unfortunate that their plastic tortilla holders were still new enough for the warmed tortillas to have absorbed some of the plastic taste/smell.
The primary problem is their service. It sucked. They were slow and inattentive, and it wasn’t even busy. I’m hoping their obviously inexperienced wait staff gets up to par before word-of-mouth about Gogo’s food gets this place really hoppin’, or it’ll be a service nightmare for sure.

Man I wish that was around when I was still out there. I was very unhappy with the mongolian grills out in Portland. The ones I've been to on the east coast were definetly more upscale. The premade sauce is the standard out here too. If you ever come visit me in Boston I'll be sure and take you to "Fire and Ice". VERY good food and they make excellent foofy drinks.
