Sunday – 4:20pm

The Fiery Furnaces – Their set was similar to their Portland show (see related post). Their set is one long uninterrupted medley of their work. At their Portland show, it was just whatever random music they felt worked with the lyrics, and I couldn't tell what was being sung unless I listened very closely to the lyrics she was singing, which pretty much killed all the fun out of the show for me.

This time they managed to play closer to the melody for most of the songs, so at least I could recognize them. Much more enjoyable. I loved every minute of their set. They did a fantastic span of their work, showing off their best hooks, putting it together so it flowed splendidly. I love their sound – it's quirky and rockin' and whimsical and strange all mixed into one.

Oh, and speaking of love. I'm feeling mad love for their drummer, Andy Knowles. It's a crack just watching his theatrics while playing – he's a total rock star.
